Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Award

Dr. John Quintanilla, Professor in the Department of Mathematics was selected as the 2016 Minnie Stevens Piper Award UNT nominee.

The Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Award is a prestigious state-wide award honoring ten professors each academic year for their dedication to the teaching profession and for their outstanding academic, scientific, and scholarly achievement. Award recipients receive certificates naming them "Piper Professors" together with a cash honorarium of $5,000.00.

Under the current Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation guidelines, UNT can submit only one nomination each year. The Faculty Awards Committee reviews nominations and makes a recommendation to the President for approval of the selected candidate.

The candidate for the award should be a full-time instructor. The deadline for nominations is 5:00 pm on Friday, September 30, 2015, and the deadline for submission of the complete nomination packets is 5:00 pm on Friday, October 23, 2015.

The official announcement of award recipients from the Piper Foundation will be made on May 2, 2016.
