The Faculty Senate appoints members for two types of faculty committees: standing committees and university administrative committees. There are also three Faculty Senate standing committees whose membership is elected by the full-time faculty of the university.
Standing committees are those named in the Charter , ByLaws, and Procedures Manual of the Faculty Senate. The Faculty Senate Executive Committee provides each standing committee with its charge.
Administrative committees are established and administered by other university entities. The Faculty Senate maintains record of the faculty it appoints to each of these committees, but is not responsible for determining any policies, logistics, meeting times or the structure of these committees.
